Alan Rubin

Though he painted intermittently over the years Alan is now a full time painter after a long career as owner-operator of The Biograph Theatre in Georgetown. He studied at the Pratt Institute in New York and the Corcoran School of Art in Washington. D.C. and has been mentored by his friend, art professor. William Woodward. He now paints full time in his Delaplane. Virginia studio. The Washington Post noted his “bold illustrated scenes resembling nothing so much as frames from imaginary movies that look simultaneously familiar and foreign... often have the look of suspended animation.”
